COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

The Communications Coordinator will support the Founder and Executive Director in providing content and public relations for Twisted Fields and our sister companies; a tree service business (Tree41), and a robotics consulting firm (Mekable).

Compensation:

​

  • $25+ per hour (largely DOE).

  • 3 weeks PTO accrued annually.

  • As a start-up, we are unable to provide health or retirement benefits at this time.

  • Potential for on-site housing accomodations.

Schedule:

​

  • Full-time

  • Flexible schedule

  • Hybrid remote, must commute to location at least 1 day a week.​

​

Responsibilities:​

​

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that includes media outreach and social media content creation.

  • Research and write press releases, infographics, blogs, and newsletters.

  • Create written, graphic, and video content for the company websites, grant proposals, and fundraising campaigns.

  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments.

  • Arrange and coordinate press conferences, plan events, and publish articles.

  • Facilitate the resolution of disputes with external role-players.

  • Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy.

  • Perform regular quality inspections of internal and external-facing media, branding, and protocols.

  • Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.

  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team.

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners and journalists, seek out media opportunities, and engage public audience.

  • Facilitate internal and external diversity, inclusion, and community service initiatives.

  • ​Develop optimization strategies that increase the company's search engine results rankings.

  • Market product, career opportunities, events, and company values.

  • Track time and expenses for profitability reports.

  • Administrative duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

​

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, videography, film, or a related field.​

  • Demonstrated videography experience including knowledge of post-production techniques.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools. Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

  • Strategic and creative mindset.

  • A portfolio of work available for review.

  • Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously without supervision.

  • Organized and detail-oriented.
