Livestock Supervisor

The livestock supervisor is responsible for the successful management of livestock operations. Livestock include dairy goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and prawns. This person provides proper care and feeding daily and delegates animal care coverage at times when they are unavailable. The livestock supervisor is expected to familiarize themselves with the Twisted Fields standard of care and oversee fulfillment thereof.

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure completion of morning and evening animal care duties

  • Collect eggs twice a day and prepare for vendors

  • Daily incubator supervision and rotation of hatches

  • Regularly stock feed inventory 

  • Cleanliness of animal barns and nesting stations

  • Regular prawn feeding and tank cleaning

  • Assist with breeding, vaccination, and de-horning of goats

  • Report issues to supervisor

Head Farmer

The produce manager ensures the proper health and harvest of crops. This person is responsible for completing daily tasks and overall management regarding the garden, fields, orchard, and greenhouses. The produce manager has basic to advanced knowledge of sustainable farming practices as well as oversees seasonal planting and harvest in line with Twisted Field’s mission and goals. This person complies with the standard of sanitation and familiarizes themselves with proper food handling practices.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee completion of seasonal planting

  • Harvest for farmers market 

  • Manage and work with farm share volunteers

  • Actively seek out and coordinate with buyers

  • Ensure safety and sanitation of produce handling

  • Inspect irrigation on a bi-weekly basis

  • Implementation of pest management systems

  • Prepare and deliver produce to customers

 

Preferred but not required experience:

 

  • Sales & Marketing

  • Tractor Operation

  • Business Development

  • Project Management

  • Sustainable Farming

  • Mechanical & Construction

Grounds Keeper

The grounds keeper maintains the functional and aesthetic quality of the facilities. The grounds keeper also ensures regular maintenance of the yard, roads, and fencing. Any regular maintenance or repairs within the bounds of individual competence should be completed by the grounds keeper. Tasks requiring additional expertise should be reported to supervisor to schedule maintenance.

Duties include but are not limited to:

​​

  • Report outstanding maintenance needs and repairs

  • Cleaning of equipment

  • Mow lawns on a regular basis

  • Pressure wash structures as needed

  • Actively manage brush and thistle control

  • Weeding the gardens

  • Complete tasks related to irrigation

  • Manage water drainage

  • Regular monitoring of fencing

Truck Driver

The truck driver must hold a valid California drivers license with CDL endorsement and a reasonably clean driving record. 

Tractor Operator

The tractor operator will have at least 1 year of experience operating and maintaining a tractor. This position also includes regular maintenance of trucks, trailers, tools, implements, and equipment on site.
