MARKET STAFF MEMBER

The Market Staff Member is responsible for preparing for and attending farmer's markets. This is a good fit for someone looking for side or weekend work in the field of sustainable agriculture or sales. Ideally this person will currently reside in the San Francisco or Half Moon Bay area. As a startup, this is a great opportunity to be a part of early-stage innovative conservation efforts to better our planet, with substantial room to grow with the company.

Compensation:

​

  • $18 hourly 

  • As a part-time contractor this position does not include health benefits or retirement benefits

​

Schedule:

​

  • Part-time 

  • 6-12 hours per week

  • Wednesdays (HMB), Saturdays (SF), or Sundays (SF)

  • Hours may vary depending on season 

​

Responsibilities:

​

  • Coordinate registration and attendance of the market

  • Set up and take down market booth and materials

  • Study and adhere to rules and regulations of the market

  • Handling emergencies and complaints

  • Serving as quality control person for produce and craft items, as well as for the market’s general appearance and cleanliness

  • Handle food stamp transaction, email sign-up list, announcements, etc.

  • Complete daily market logs

  • Ensure proper submission of daily and monthly sales reports and deposits

  • Educate customers on farm practices, products, and services

  • Market promotions and special events 

  • Deliver top-notch service to customers and vendors 

  • Daily time tracking

  • Administrative duties as necessary

Qualifications:

​​

  • US work authorized

  • Valid driver's license

  • Clean, organized, and efficient

  • Reliable 

  • Willing to obtain food handler certification

 

Preferred Skills (not required):

  • Spanish / English bilingual
